METI Government of Japan Internship 2023 (Fully Funded)

Lahore, May 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): The applications for the METI Government of Japan Internship 2023 are open for Foreign Nationals. METI is a Fully Funded Internship in Japan for international students. Each year 200 applicants from these countries join the METI internship program. For this internship, you do not need to upload IELTS Test. Also, there is no application fee. This is a Fully Funded internship in Japan.

Interns will be placed in different companies in Japan. The Internship will start in the Summer as well as in the winter. So, METI Internship will run in two batches. The total duration of the Internship program is 2 months. People from different academic disciplines can apply. Your airfare, accommodation, meals, and stipend will be covered. More details about the METI Japan internship for international students in 2023 are given below.

Financial Benefits of METI Internship:

METI is a Government of Japan Supported Internship Program. It will cover all the expenses which include:

Insurance Coverage during the internship.

You will receive Travel Support to Travel to Japan.

You will receive electronic devices such as laptops, communication devices, and mobile phones.

Eligibility Criteria:

To Apply for the METI Internship, you must be a citizen of one of these countries.

You must be proficient in English.

You must be at least 20 years old and not more than 40 years old.

If you are a student, you must be able to show proof that you are studying.

For Students of University or Graduate School: a letter of recommendation by his/her academic advisor

For Graduates: a graduation certificate from a university or graduate school

Deadline:

The Meti internship runs in two batches. Summer internship and winter internship.

Saqib Ali Ateel, Secretary Agriculture South Punjab visited the Islamia University of Bahawalpur

Bahawalpur, May 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): The agricultural research conducted in Islamia University Bahawalpur under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob is of great importance for the development of agriculture in the country. In this regard, research on cotton crop by university agricultural scientists and cotton varieties with best yield in climatic and geographical conditions are very welcome for agricultural economy, farmer’s prosperity and textile industry. This was expressed by Saqib Ali Ateel, Secretary Agriculture South Punjab on the occasion of his visit to Faculty of Agriculture Islamia University Bahawalpur. On this occasion, he visited National Cotton Breeding Institute, Islamia University Bahawalpur along with Jameel Ghori, Director Agriculture Extension and Ismat Ullah Kahlo, Deputy Director Information.

Dean Faculty of Agriculture and Environment Prof. Dr. Tanvir Hussain Turabi welcomed. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal, Director, NCBI, spoke about the research activities being carried out in the institution and explained the methods of detection of CLCuV and whitefly screening. The distinguished guests also observed different genotypes having resistance to CLCuV virus. Agriculture Secretary South Punjab appreciated the development of okra leaf shaped variety, hairless and red color genotype. Finally, they visited the seed production block of IUB-13 and okra leaf genotype and discussed the IPM program.

Secretary Agriculture South Punjab appreciated the research services of the University for the cotton farmers of South Punjab as per the vision of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob. Dr. Abid Shahzad participated in the first international student convention in Lahore along with foreign students of IUB

Bahawalpur, May 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): According to the vision of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Jamia Islamia Bahawalpur has achieved the status of international university. In the last four years, the university has achieved extraordinary growth, expansion and success in every field thanks to the pedagogic and administrative reforms. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur has been included in the top 800 universities of the world by Times Higher Education Ranking, an organization that compiles the global ranking of universities. Now students from other countries of the world are also coming to study in Islamia University Bahawalpur.

In this regard, Directorate of International Linkages of Islamia University Bahawalpur is actively providing services. Recently, in the first International Students Convention at Lahore organized by Punjab Higher Education Commission Lahore, the IUB delegates comprising Dr Abid Shahzad, Director International Linkages, Bashar Ahmad BS Software Engineering and Muhammad Saleh BS Software Engineering of IUB (both from Republic of Yemen) participated. The Convention was chaired by the Governor Punjab/ Chancellor Engr Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman and hosted by the Chairman, Punjab Higher Education Commission, Prof Dr Shahid Muneer.

On this occasions, Vice Chancellors of various universities, Directors of International Linkages and a large number of International students from Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kashmir, Palestine, Somalia, Afghanistan, Uganda, UAE, Iran and other countries participated in the event. The students from various countries showed their cultural performances and amused the audience. On the occasion, the Chancellor Engr Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman said that International students should be attracted through offering of scholarships so that international linkages of Pakistan become stronger.

Chairman PHEC Prof Dr Shahid Muneer pledged that PHEC would support all universities to strengthen their International Office and PHEC will train the International office personnel on how to bring international students to universities. The keynote speakers included ZB Mirza, Pakistan’s leading biodiversity scientist, Rab Nawaz, WWF’s International Senior Expert on Area-Based Conservation. Other guest speakers include Devcom-Pakistan Executive Director Munir Ahmad, Islamia University Bahawalpur Director Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies (CIDS) Dr. Muhammad Abdullah, Azad Jammu and Kashmir Environmental Protection Specialist Aftab Hussain Bukhari, Marine Biodiversity Specialist Moazzam Khan. environmental protection expert Azhar Qureshi and other guest speakers. Mahrukh Khan, who graduated from National Defense University, participated.

Dr. Muhammad Abdullah said that the Cholistan desert is facing the challenge of rapidly increasing population, livestock and permanent housing. The government and the private sector are converting barren desert into arable land Which will wipe out all the species of the desert. Islamia University Bahawalpur has established Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies (CIDS) to explore and conserve natural resources and alleviate the sufferings of the people of Cholistan desert. Vice-Chancellor Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob, who is heading the Inter-University Climate Change Consortium, is giving full guidance and patronage for the protection of the natural environment of the Cholistan desert. The Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies of Islamia University Bahawalpur has been equipped with modern equipment and the number of researchers has also been increased.

DHQ Hospital, Badin, Introduces Spirometry Test Services for Improved Respiratory Care

Karachi, May 22, 2023 (PPI-OT): The District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) Badin, managed by Indus Hospital and Health Network, launched Spirometry test services on May 16, 2023. This initiative aims to ensure the well-being of the community, particularly individuals grappling with lung diseases. Spirometry, a vital diagnostic tool, offers precise measurements of lung function, aiding in the identification and diagnosis of respiratory disorders like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and emphysema.
