He said that Sardar Usman Buzdar was neither residing in Punjab University nor anti-corruption authorities have raided the university in this regard.

Bahawalpur, May 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):A friendly cricket match between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Old Sadiqians played at Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur won the match by 65 runs. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur won the toss and scored 165 runs in ten overs. Dr. Zahid Ihsan scored 65, Dr. Aftab Hussain Gillani scored not out 22 and Arif Ramooz scored 20. While Ayaz Imran and Ali Zameer played very well from Old Sadiqian but the aggressive batting of both players did not work for the team and Old Sadiqian could only score 100 runs.

The chief guest of this match was Mr. David Dowdles, Principal of Sadiq Public School. He thanked the Vice Chancellor of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob for sending the university’s team and welcomed the guest team. Islamia University Bahawalpur also hosted a similar friendly match and are happy to be here today. He said that it is the vision of Vice Chancellor Islamia University Bahawalpur that such friendly matches should be organized with other institutions and very soon a friendly match will be organized between IUB Sports Promotion Society and the cricket team of Sadiq Public School. He also thanked Ali Zameer, the captain of the Old Sadiqian team for making this match possible.

Lahore, May 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):The MBA Class of 1997 was welcomed back to LUMS for their 25 Year Alumni Reunion on Friday, December 23, 2022. The reunion was a momentous occasion as they met their classmates and reminisced about old times over coffee and snacks. The Class went on a campus tour and pointed out their favourite spots from their time at LUMS, and shared details about what they used to do. The library was the next stop during the tour, where the alumni saw how their printed theses were kept there and they also showed it to their children.

They also visited the National Incubation Centre Lahore and were amazed by all the excellent work that is being done. They also had a tour of their science lab along with their children and were able to witness all the new technology initiatives that have been taken at LUMS. Lunch was at the Pepsi Dining Centre where their favourite faculty member, Dr. Jamsheed Hasan Khan, also made the afternoon special by joining them. The festivities continued at night when the alumni decided to gather for dinner at Lahore Gymkhana Club.

Bahawalpur, May 02, 2023 (PPI-OT):The 6th Meeting of Consortium held online under the chair of Convener Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob at Islamia University of Bahawalpur. According to the notification of Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), IUB lead Theme II Climate Change, Environment and Pollution (Waste Management)” among all Universities Punjab-Pakistan was discussed. The details of the agenda were briefed by Dr. Wajid Nasim Jatoi Focal Person and Director International Centre for Climate Change, Food Security and Sustainability. Members exchanged views on the first draft on “Climate Change Policy Action Document”.

Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore appreciated the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for working continuously on the theme and suggest some improvements to carry the task at national level in National Climate Change Policy as published by Ministry of Climate Change, Government of Pakistan through this Consortium. Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum, Patron and members Dr. Muhammad Abdullah, Dr. Nargis Naz, Dr. Samar Fahad, Dr. Abid Rashid Gill, Dr. Mazhar Abbas, Dr Abdul Ghaffar, and Dr Naveed Ul Haq were present in this meeting. Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum concluded the meeting, and it was decided to hold the next meeting to finalize the Climate Change Policy Action Document.
