Pharma Spark Society Organized Rashan Drive

Islamabad, March 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):The Ramazan Drive initiated on Thursday 16th March 2023; all collectors played an amazing role in collection of funds. Funds collected were reported directly to Coordinators which were then compiled and recorded. The donation of all the batches was compiled and collected by Lead Coordinator. On Tuesday 21st March 2023, a total of Rs.130, 000/- was collected. 15 Packages; each package worth more than Rs 8000/- were bought.

The Ration Distribution Process started on Wednesday, 22nd March at 3:30 pm. The respected Faculty members; Mr. Muhammad Tariq Khan, Madam Nitasha Gohar, Madam Nadia Shamshad Malik and Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Mr. Muzaffar Abbas were also present on this occasion along with Lead Coordinators. The Ration was then successfully distributed and the smiles on the faces of the needy and deserving people were totally worth it.

LUMS and PharmEvo Explore Avenues for Collaboration

Lahore, March 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):On March 6, 2023, a meeting was held at LUMS with representatives from PharmEvo (Pvt.) Ltd., a Karachi-based company engaged in manufacturing and marketing of high-quality pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products, to discuss potential avenues for collaboration. Syed Jamsheed Ahmed, Deputy CEO, Dr. Masood Jawaid, Director Medical Affairs and Learning Innovations, and Mr. Mohsin Sheraz Ali, Director Marketing from PharmEvo met with Dr. Tariq Jadoon, Provost, Ms. Nuzhat Kamran, Director, Office of Advancement, Ms. Aisha Azhar, Director, Rausing Executive Development Centre, and Mr. Anas Ashraf Ali, Head of Development, Office of Advancement at LUMS.

PharmEvo representatives discussed the company’s CSR initiatives under its Institute of Leadership Excellence, including courses aimed at inculcating leadership qualities in medical practitioners. They expressed interest in collaborating with faculty at LUMS to design and develop customised training programmes, workshops, and certificate courses for physicians on healthcare leadership and innovation. Additionally, they offered to provide intellectual, social, and financial capital for the publication of local case studies in the same area.

The discussion also centred around the pharmaceutical industry’s potential to drive innovation and research. To this end, a partnership between PharmEvo’s Institute of Leadership Excellence and the Reusing Executive Development Centre, LUMS, was discussed, with a view to offering customised training programmes for the medical fraternity.

The Director, Office of Advancement, Ms. Nuzhat Kamran apprised the guests about strategic developments at LUMS, the recent awards won on the global front for excellence, and the flagship National Outreach Programme. Dr. Ahmad shared insights on the initiatives that LUMS has taken to combat the challenges faced by Pakistan.

He also discussed areas where LUMS can make a difference through centres of excellence. “In addition to offering executive education, LUMS has dedicated centres working to address today’s most pressing issues – including climate change, energy, water, and gender equity. For example, Pakistan’s Electric Vehicle Policy was designed at the LUMS Energy Institute and adopted by the federal government.” Mr. Ghauri emphasised that the current generation and students must be equipped with the latest technology, which can help them start learning early. He appreciated the efforts of LUMS and believed that the new generation can achieve new heights. He also expressed his enthusiasm to work with the University, and both Netsol and LUMS look forward to exploring areas of mutual collaboration.

In continuation of efforts to Rain Enhancement in Cholistan, a delegation from Kazakhstan visited IUB

Bahawalpur, March 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):In continuation of the dialogue and efforts of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur for Rain Enhancement in Cholistan, a delegation from Kazakhstan led by Dr. Hanif (Alumni), Ex-chief meteorologist, PMD, comprised of Mr. Ainabek Altay, CEO, ICCCT, Mr. Mirassilov Kanat, Tech expert, ICCCT, Mr. Imtiaz, ICCCT Representative in Pakistan and Dr. Khalid Alamgir, Technology Expert were warmly welcomed at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur by the team of experts from the National Research Centre of Intercropping and Representative of PRO-IUB.

The delegation visited the Cholistan dessert and expressed their keen interest in the installation of their Rain Enhancement Technology (RET) at Cholistan. The delegation was also called upon by the Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob to discuss the possibility of rain enhancement in Cholistan and the other matters of mutual interest. Engr. Prof. Athar Mahboob offered the full support for RET. Experts and stakeholders of the RET were very excited to initiate a research-oriented Pilot Project of RET in Cholistan. At the end of their visit, the delegation also visited different departments of university and witnessed the wheat – and sugarcane-based strip intercropping trials at NRCI research fields.

International Social Work Day was celebrated by the IUB to encourage and promote social work

Bahawalpur, March 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):International Social Work Day was celebrated by the Department of Social Work Islamia University Bahawalpur with the aim of encouraging and promoting social work at the global level. Group discussions were organized to celebrate the day and highlight the importance of social diversity. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Saleem, Chairman, Department of Applied Psychology, Yasmin Sikandar, Anjum, Kashif Imran, Regional Manager NRSP Bank, Prof. (Retd) Zahida Javed and Qamar Shafi (Retd) District Officer Social Welfare, Women. Development and Baitul-Mal or faculty members, social workers, practitioners, social work department, sociology, anthropology, psychology, students and prominent social workers from various welfare departments participated.

Chairman of the Department of Social Work Professor Dr. Asif Naveed Ranjha emphasized the importance of social work in modern times and the role of social workers in promoting social harmony and inclusiveness. talked. New book of Misrkhawab and Taftirmah of the Institute of Compilation and Translation has been published – the book will prove to be a milestone in advancing relations with the Islamic Brotherhood country

Lahore, March 27, 2023 (PPI-OT):Ahour (PR) Egyptian universities want to cooperate with Pakistani universities. The vice chancellor of Cairo University, Dr. Zahid Manir Amrsay, director of Punjab University editorial and translation department, expressed his desire for mutual cooperation agreement with Pakistani universities in a meeting. A large part of Pakistan’s foreign trade goods passes through the Suez Canal. In 1956, contrary to the wishes of world powers, Pakistani Prime Minister Feroze Khan Noon took a bold stand in support of Egypt, upon which former Egyptian President Anwar Al-Sadat said, “My lost brother Pakistan has been returned to me.”

These revelations have come out in the recently published travelogue of Egypt, “Misr Khawab aur Teufsir”. The author of the book, Dr. Zahid Munir Amer, has been teaching at Al-Azhar University for a long time. Before that, his Arabic book “Fe Hab Misr” about the Muslim Brotherhood has been published. He is the author of fifty books. “Egypt Dream and Interpretation” has been published by Panjab University Publishing House and the book is being enthusiastically welcomed in the academic and literary circles of the country.
