Sindh’s Mohammad Umar fined for showing dissent

Lahore, November 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Sindh’s Mohammad Umar has been fined 30 per cent of his match-fee for breaching the PCB Code of Conduct for Players and Players Support Personnel during his side’s seventh round match against Southern Punjab in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2022-23 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. Umar was found to have violated Article 2.5 of the PCB Code of Conduct, which reads as: “Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during a match”.

The incident happened in the fifth over of Southern Punjab’s second innings when after dismissing the batter he directed his finger towards the pavilion, which could have provoked an aggressive reaction from the dismissed batter. Umar pleaded guilty to the charge and accepted the sanction proposed by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed. The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Tariq Rasheed and Alay Haider.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari meets His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates 

Karachi, November 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari held a bilateral meeting with H.H Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on the sidelines of the Annual Sir Bani Yas Forum in Abu Dhabi today.

The Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to the UAE leadership for their generous support for the flood affected people of Pakistan. This was a manifestation of the deep and time tested brotherly ties between the two nations that have always stood by each other in hour of need. UAE was one of the largest donors of humanitarian assistance during difficult times.

The Foreign Minister congratulated his UAE counterpart on the successful hosting of the annual Sir Bani Yas Forum. Both Foreign Ministers emphasized the vital importance of Pakistan-UAE relations and agreed to further deepen mutual cooperation in all fields, including economy, trade, energy and investment. Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari emphasized the need for increased volume of trade and investment between the two countries. The two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest and agreed to continue close collaboration between the two brotherly countries.

IoBM and Epiphany Sign MoU

Karachi, November 05, 2022 (PPI-OT):A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) and Epiphany on Monday, October 31, 2022. The MoU focuses on pursuing capacity-building initiatives including developing and strengthening new-age skills through workshops, training projects and mentorship; participation in seminars, conferences and workshops; identification of opportunities for faculty development, outreach and networking with students.

The signatories were Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro, Rector and Dean, College of Computer Science and Information Systems (CCSIS), IoBM and Mr. Asad Ehmad, Chief Strategy Officer, Epiphany. Present at the MoU signing ceremony were IoBM’s Mr. Talib Karim, President IoBM, Dr. Shujaat Mubarik, Dean CBM, and Ms. Juveria Baig, HoD Internship and Placement Department. Ms. Faiza Siddique, Director Business and Growth, Epiphany was also present. 25th Convocation of University of Central Punjab

The University of Central Punjab, Lahore is delighted to announce that its 25th Convocation is scheduled to be held on 18th and 19th December 2022 (Sunday and Monday respectively) at Expo Center Johar Town, Lahore. In this regard a mandatory rehearsal session will be held on 17th December 2022 (Saturday).

The students who have completed their degree requirements by Spring-2022 OR are going to complete by Summer-2022 semesters are required to submit their Online Graduation Plans not later than 20th October, 2022 (Thursday).
