Foreign Minister Chairman Bilawal addresses joint press conference with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres

Karachi, September 09, 2022 (PPI-OT):Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressing a joint press conference with the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres said that the national and international attention should be on flood relief and victims.

Responding to questions, FM Chairman Bilawal said that our fellow citizens are facing a catastrophe that has never been witnessed in the country before. Our efforts and focus from the very start have been on the flood victims. Our appeal to fellow political parties, especially from the opposition is that there will be a time for politics but this is the time to unite as a nation and help the Pakistanis suffering in all four provinces.

The people of Pakistan do not contribute to the catastrophe they are facing. 33 to 35 million people have been displaced due to the devastating floods. We do not have the infrastructure that can tend to millions of displaced people. We are still in the rescue and relief phase. We are thankful to the United Nations for the timely help. We will build Pakistan back and better, FM Chairman Bilawal resolved.
