Acquisition will enhance both AQX and PATTSY WAVE as IP practice management platforms for law firms by adding fully integrated IP time and billing capabilities

In leveraging Practice Insight’s technology for integrated IP time and billing functionality, Anaqua continues its investment in both AQX® Law Firm and PATTSY WAVE® as end-to-end IP practice management solutions, while adding WiseTime, Practice Insight’s flagship autonomous time capture tool to its suite of standalone offerings.

Department of English Organized an Online Session on “Project Proposal Writing”

Ms. Noshaba Zafar has not only worked with various prestigious organizations but also with different UN agencies in advisory and managerial roles.

The speaker delivered a detailed and an effective lecture on Project Proposal Writing. A comprehensive overview of all the essential parts of a standard project proposal was offered by the speaker. Moreover, the speaker also enlightened the participants with essential DOs and DONTs of Project Proposal Writing. Department of Psychology Commemorated Culture Day 

Islamabad, June 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):Culture can be defined as all the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that are passed down from generation to generation. Culture has been called “the way of life for an entire society.” As such, it includes codes of manners, dress, language, religion, rituals, art. Culture provides important social and economic benefits. With improved learning and health, increased tolerance, and opportunities to come together with others, culture enhances our quality of life and increases overall well-being for both individuals and communities.

Keeping in mind the value and importance of cultures the students of 5th semester Psychology department of Capital University of science and Technology organized a culture event under the supervision of instructor Miss Saniya Moazzam on 2nd June 2022 for the purpose of cultural representation of all the provinces. Provinces include Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, Gilgit. Student had represented the cultural foods, songs, poetry, costumes in the cultural event. Many faculty members had visit to that cultural event and in the end head of the Psychology department, Dr. Sabahat Haqqani visited in the event and made the event more worthy.

ORIC Arranged Hands-On Short Course on “React JS” 

Islamabad, June 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):React-JS can be used for creating large web applications for organizations in an agile manner. Through React, data can dynamically get updated in web pages without requiring them to be reloaded at each update trigger. As a perfect web development tool, it is among the top-recommended JS library. Prominent web products like Facebook and Instagram are built on its basis, and there are over 10,274,456 live websites that use React.

Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) conducted Twenty (20) Hours Hands-on Course on “React-JS” starting from 01st June 2022. The course consisted of two modules spanning Ten (10 hours) each. The objective of the course was to provide participants with advanced hands-on knowledge about React JS and its application in web development. The course contents included the key topics like: ESC Refresher, React Hooks, NPM Packages, Routing, Formik, Consuming APIs, Postman//GitHub, Firebase and Heroku Development etc. with two real time projects.

The participants included students from CS and SE Departments. The concluding ceremony held on 17th June 2022 was graced by HoD CS, Prof. Nayyer Masood. After a welcome note by Assistant Director ORIC, the chief guest was requested to distribute certificates among successful candidates. Following this, the chief guest congratulated the participants for successful completion of course. He also appreciated ORIC for effectual conduction of event. The course ended on a high note and proved to be a great source of knowledge to participants.

18th Batch of iHOPE Volunteer Program – June 2022 

Karachi, June 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):Indus Hospital and Health Network (IHHN) arranged its 18th iHope volunteer program in June 2022 for students from the 9th to 10th grade of different prestigious schools in Karachi, namely the Foundation Public School and Haque Academy. IHHN has been arranging this volunteer program since 2015.

The aim of the iHope Volunteer Program is to inculcate the importance of humanity and care among the youth of Pakistan. We hope to instill life-long lessons of empathy and compassion in these volunteers as we believe they will be the champions of change for a prosperous future.

“I developed my social skills and confidence; I also had a great learning experience with hands-on CPR and Firefighting training. This week-long program made me understand my privilege and the hardships of the people from different backgrounds”, said Mariam Dada of Haque Academy.

The students were divided into groups – Helpers, Healers, Protectors, and Rescuers – following which they spent two days at the Adult Ward and Physical Rehabilitation Unit, interviewing patients and creating patient stories. Additionally, they spent time in the Pediatric Department conducting activities like story-telling, painting, origami and other crafts. Through their time spent with ill patients from some of the most underprivileged backgrounds, students were able to nurture their feelings of compassion and empathy.

Interactive lectures and sessions were also arranged for the students throughout the week, by Dr. Bilal Hassan (aka MystaPaki), Shireen Zulfiqar, Community Health Directorate and the IHHN training staff.

“I loved my time here as I learned important life skills such as CPR and firefighting and gained knowledge about infectious diseases. The program also taught me how to improve individually and learn from my mistakes.”, said Ayesha Maqsood of Foundation Public School.

On the last day of the volunteer program, a closing ceremony was conducted to honour the students for their community service and to encourage them to stay engaged with IHHN’s Indus Yaqeen program. Among attendance were Dr. Naseem Salahuddin and Dr. Saima Saeed, and Dr. Amin Chinoy, founding member and Head of the Physical Rehabilitation Unit, IHHN, as the chief guest. The volunteers were presented with certificates by Dr. Muhammad Fareeduddin, Head of Department Pediatrics, IHHN.

ORIC Holds Hands-On Crash Course on “Ethical Hacking” 

Islamabad, June 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):Information Security is a process of preventing unauthorized access, counter threats, confidentiality, disruption and modification of business information, and protecting companies’ data which is secured in the system from the malicious purpose. A breach in digital security can cause serious problems and countless damage to the organization’s image and exposure of secrets. Having important information leaked or stolen can result in serious financial problems and can even lead to bankruptcy of an organization/institution.

Considering the importance of Information/Cyber-Security in today’s digital world, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) organized twenty (20) hours Crash Course entitled “Ethical Hacking and Cyber-Security” starting from 13th June 2022. The course encompassed advanced understanding of cyber-security, cyber threats, modern approaches to protect against cyber-attacks and virtuous hacking.

The concluding ceremony of the course was graced by HoD CS, Prof. Nayyer Masood. After a welcome note by Assistant Director, ORIC, Prof. Nayyer Masood was requested to distribute certificates among successful candidates. A total of 20 participants attended the course including the faculty members from IBA Sukkur and FAST NU, Faisalabad. The Resource Person for the course was Mr. Amer Zaheer (faculty member, CS Department, CUST). The ceremony concluded with acknowledging remarks and significance of Information Security for organizations and protection against cyber-attacks in present world, presented by the chief guest. He also congratulated the successful attendees and endorsed the efforts of ORIC for conducting a successful event.
