Pakistan Broadcasters Association strongly condemns abduction of Aaj News’ Assignment Editor Mr. Nafees Naeem 

Karachi, June 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):In a statement issued today, Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) has strongly condemned the abduction of Aaj News’ Assignment Editor Mr. Nafees Naeem by some unidentified people outside his residence in Karachi.

The statement expressed serious concerns over the illegal act and said that such incidents are aimed at preventing journalists/media workers from performing their professional and constitutional responsibilities and an attack on freedom of the Press. PBA demands that immediate steps must be taken for the recovery and release of Mr. Nafees Naeem. The statement further urges concerned authorities to ensure the safety of journalists/media workers in Pakistan.

Department of Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain Management at UCP Business School, University of Central Punjab, Lahore, organised a webinar on Thursday, 9th June 2022. The topic was “Recent Research Trends in Supply Chain Management”. Dr Muhammed Mustafa Kamal, Associate Professor, Coventry University, UK, shared his knowledge and expertise with students. The purpose of this webinar was to explore research trends in logistics and supply chain management, bring an international perspective to the class and discuss pre requisites and possibilities of higher education for students in international universities.

The webinar organiser, Ms. Syeda Uzma Tahira, with her students from graduating BBA and MBA batch specialisation in supply chain management, attended the session. After the webinar, Mr. Shafique Ahmed Uqaili (Dean and Director, FOMS) Dr. Raja Irfan Sabir, (HOD, Marketing Operations and Supply Chain Management) and Ms. Syeda Uzma Tahira, (Lecturer, FOMS) discussed following areas of collaboration between UCP Business School and Coventry University, UK.

Department of Electrical Engineering Arranged Dean Honour Role Ceremony

Islamabad, June 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Chancellor and Dean Honour Ceremony held on Friday 10 June 2022 in Workshop Room, B-Block at 11 am. Hod Professor Dr. Noor Muhammad Khan Started the ceremony with Talawat-e-Quran Pak. Hod appreciated and congratulated all Students of electrical engineering who have achieved the distinctive GPA’s and have exceled in their academic rankings. Afterwards the award of certificate was presented to all the students. The Dean of Engineering also addressed the students and talk on several issues along with few advice on improvement on their character building along with their academic status.

Visit to Herbion Pakistan 

Karachi, June 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):We at DHA Suffa University firmly believe that students can learn more by interacting with experts in their field. For this purpose, many educational visits are organized at DHA Suffa University to make students more aware of the current practices being followed in the industry. The Management Sciences Department arranged a visit to Herbion Pakistan to provide students with a hands-on learning experience in Supply Chain Management. Students visited Herbion premises on 8th June 2022 where they were given a warm welcome by the management followed by a very interactive session by the Head of Supply Chain and Head of Human Resources.

The Head of the Supply Chain department explained the concept of an extended supply chain and all the different elements involved in it. He also told students about the importance of planning in the supply chain and the problems faced by the company during COVID-19 and how Herbion countered them. Lastly, he guided students in the different areas where they can pursue their careers in Supply Chain Department. It was an interactive session with the supply chain head and students questioned him on different concepts and cleared their queries.

The lecture of Head of Human Resources was followed by the lecture of Head of Supply Chain. She informed students about the Human Resources practices at Herbion and encouraged them to apply for internships as those students who complete their internships with a good recommendation from their immediate supervisors stand a good chance of getting a job at Herbion. The Head of Human Resources also showed a corporate movie enlightening students about the company and the community support program that they are doing at Herbion.

Lastly, the students were taken for a visit to the raw material packaging store to get an idea of how raw materials are managed at the store. The students thoroughly enjoyed the visit and were thankful to Herbion management for providing them with a very good learning experience.

68% of people globally as compared to 65% of Pakistanis self-rate their mood as good; more males (70%) compared to females (66%) report having a good mood on the surveyed day: Gallup Pakistan and WIN World Survey report released 

Islamabad, June 14, 2022 (PPI-OT):According to a Gallup Pakistan Survey in Pakistan (and similar surveys done by Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research (WIN) across the world), 68% of people globally as compared to 65% of Pakistanis self-rate their mood as good; more males (70%) compared to females (66%) report having a good mood on the surveyed day.

These findings emerge from an international survey conducted across the globe by The Worldwide Independent Network of Market Research (WIN) – a global network conducting market research and opinion polls in every continent. WIN International has published the Annual WIN World Survey (WWS – 2021), exploring the views and beliefs of 19,422 individuals, among citizens from 24 countries across the globe. The fieldwork for Pakistan was conducted between 5th to 8th April 2022 and the sample size was 500 individuals.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women from across the world were asked the following question, “On a scale from 1 to 10, being 10 the highest score and 1 the lowest, how would you rate your mood today”. In response to this question in Pakistan, 65% gave a high score, 34% gave a low score and 1% didn’t know or gave no response.

Question: “On a scale from 1 to 10, being 10 the highest score and 1 the lowest, how would you rate your mood today?”
