Karachi: H.E. Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, First Lady of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, held a meeting with H.E. Jane Marriott, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, at Bilawal House in Karachi. The discussions centered on strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the United Kingdom in pivotal areas such as education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, and youth development.
The meeting provided a platform for both parties to explore opportunities for collaboration that could benefit both nations. H.E. Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari emphasized the importance of these sectors, highlighting their role in fostering sustainable development and economic growth.
In addition to bilateral issues, the First Lady expressed appreciation for the British Prime Minister’s position on the Gaza situation. She underscored the necessity of adhering to humanitarian values and promoting peace, reflecting Pakistan’s broader foreign policy stance.
The British delegation included Lance Domm, the British Deputy High Commissioner, and Huda Ikram, Political Adviser to the British High Commission. Their presence underscored the importance of the meeting in furthering UK-Pakistan relations.
Local political figures, including Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho, Member of the National Assembly Shazia Marri, and Member of the Provincial Assembly Qasim Soomro, also attended, signifying the meeting’s significance in the regional context.
